Sara Abouelfetouh Khalil

Sara is an Architectural Technology undergraduate student at the University of Brighton. She researched the current state of BIM implementation in the Egyptian construction and design industry.

Luke Henderson

Luke is a Building Surveying undergraduate student at the University of Brighton. She researched the current state of BIM implementation in energy retrofits in the South of England construction and design industry.

Varsha Reddy Kandi

Varsha was part of the STEM Educational Gaming Research Group. Her work is currently working on evaluating the educational impact of the Design Review Simulator. In particular, her work focuses on understanding the meeting of learning objectives of undergraduate students.


Gilberto Rosas

Gilberto was part of the Immersive and Interactive Research Group. He is validating a decision making framework for the development of interactive workspaces. The framework is designed to support professionals and academics by guiding them in choosing the technology and purpose of the workspace.


Eduardo Reynaga

Eduardo was part of the Lean Construction Research Group. He is supporting the validation of an individual assessment instrument which developed so practitioners could assess their knowledge and efforts in implementing Lean principles, develop self-awareness, and self-regulate their journey. 


Inez Ayerra

Inez was part of the Immersive and Interactive Research Group. In her project, Inez has set forward the goal of evaluating a large number of BIM Execution Plans to evaluate a set of guidelines for the development of BIM Execution Plans.


Rupinder Kaur

Rupinder was part of the Lean Construction Research Group and has worked on the collection and statistical analysis of data from the Lean Learning Health Assessment tool. Her work will be submitted to the Engineering Project Organization Journal in 2018. 


Nawar Awad

Nawar was part of the Lean Construction Research Group. His work focused on the application of Lean analysis methods to minimize wasteful activities in the installation of curtain wall systems. His work illustrated the potential of leveraging video time studies to reduce the curtain wall installation cost by over $200,000. His work was presented to the 2017 Lean Construction Institute Congress in Anaheim California. 


Bassam Awad

Bassam was part of the Immersive and Interactive Research Group. His work focused on analyzing the impact of leveraging virtual prototypes in gaming engines to conduct design reviews. Based on his research, he was able to illustrate that by leveraging virtual prototypes, versus 2D drawings, the number of requests for information reduced significantly. His work was published and presented at the 2018 Construction Research Congress in New Orleans Louisiana.


Hadiseh Gooran

Hadiseh was part of the STEM Educational Gaming Research Group. Her work focused on the modeling of the game objects in the Attack of the Recyclops virtual reality game. Based on her work the team was able to have a quality and professionally made models.


Fatima Woods

Fatima was part of the STEM Educational Gaming Research Group. Her work is currently working on the analysis of Think-Aloud qualitative data collected from the implementation of the Virtual Construction Simulator 4. In particular, her work focuses on understanding the cognitive and metacognitive processes of undergraduate students.


Majid Ghafary Goosheh

Majid was part of the Immersive and Interactive Research Group. He worked on developing BIM models and 4D simulations of commercial facilities.


Ruby Than Troung

Ruby was part of is part of the Lean Construction Research Group. Her work focuses on drawing a connection between mindful practices and safety construction behaviors. In particular, she is focusing on evaluating the effects of mindful behaviors in situational awareness and focused attention.


Mariana Barbosa Silva

Darren is part of the STEM Educational Gaming Research Group. He is currently investigating the relationship between gaming performance and learning outcomes of undergraduate students playing the Virtual Construction Simulator 4.
